Evaluating Proposals
Just as Correctional institutions vary in mission, objectives and needs, corrections services contractors also vary. You will want to consider and evaluate each contractor’s correctional service track record, years of business experience, personnel training methods, service philosophies, business conduct policies, indemnification levels, food production specifications, menu development parameters and commitment to your specific requirements.
When evaluating proposals, you should:
- Insure that all qualified proposals are evaluated equally and fairly
- Create an evaluation system that reflects your priorities
- Separate and judge mandatory from desirable responses
- Create a basis for evaluating proposals where emphasis is placed on your priorities
Contractor Evaluation Score Sheet
Each facility must determine its own criteria for evaluating contractors. We’ve provided a worksheet to help you score contractors based on the criteria most important to you. Download the Contractor Evaluation Score Sheet from our Guide to Contracting manual.
